Might and Magic series - Best Games Ever!! Who is with me?

Unread postby vepeli » 16 Feb 2006, 21:19

Helloo Adventurers!
Glunk..!

I just moved my post in this new place.

I have recently completed Heroes III - Armageddon's Blade, and the game was excellent. Now I am continuing on playing M&M IX which I cannot allow to myself to play too much that I don't run out of gaming M&M rpgs. Also I am playing Joe & Mac - Caveman Ninja as for good old time fun. Now I am considing of which Heroes game should I start next? I have tested for Heroes II now, and maybe start playing that, it seems really good game. If You have any oppinions or comments about that, please answer in Heroes section where I started a post.
Anyway here is a post where You can make Your oppininion about M&M being the best. You can also tell some of Your fine memories what You have had on playing M&M games (like what You liked most). Or tell me what M&M games You have. Or perhaps ask some questions of the NWC games which You haven't heard and are thinking might they be any good? Many of those NWC games have Jon Van Caneghem involved and You know what that means? QUALITY STUFF!

This is my humble M&M (NWC also) collection (not complete yet..)

Just kiddin', mighty nice collection you got there. But the greatest games are; check my avatar. Although MM does follow very very closely.

Nice collection indeed:) I don't have MM 1-5, but all other things I do possess. Of course, along with WoG and Equilibris mods.

;) So? It has little to nothing to do with the real Might and Magic universe, and it was rather dull reading on top of that.

Heh, I actually kinda like it. It's better than the Baldur's Gate novels that polluted this world. But I was just kidding in any case.

*shrug* I haven’t read the Baldur’s Gate novels SFAIK (unless it’s another name for Forgotten Realms?), so I wouldn’t know. I just got rather bored with Praz-El, and the fact that the whole book has little to nothing to do with the real Might and Magic universe other than a few names that were copy and pasted. I did have a nagging desire to parody the whole thing, however—change his name to Pretz-El, make him half bagel and make the giant war between the Bagels and the Donuts over who go to be the Supreme Hoop-Shaped Pastry.

Helloo Adventurers!
Glunk..!

I had couple additions to my collection (few M&M related and few NWC). By the way, if You happend to know any M&M or NWC related game You have played (or heard) and are any good, please inform me and I look for it in the future to my collection.

Apeman,
Thanks for the compliments, a little humor is always welcome. I like Fallout too.

Justice,
Hello, I live in Helsinki, Finland. My collection is in black treasure chest and has trap on it, so You need to have at least master in disarm trap or perhaps grand master to get it open in one piece :) .

Sgt_BFG,
We had this Heroes conversation at Heroes section, You can read there. I chose Heroes II and am now playing it.

Logan Warbringer,
Thanks, I sure can recommend M&M I-V, try to find them like in some collection (like M&M VI Special edition in ebay, doesn't cost too much).
If You decide to buy those some day look for https://www.celestialheavens.com/383 how to make them work on XP.

*Sniff*

[sobs loudly] It's just not fair! [incomprehensible speech]

*dries eyes* I'm okay. It's just that I lack the free time to play all these wonderful games.

Helloo Adventurers!
Glunk..!

I just drop in here to announce that I just completed M&M IX. I enjoyed it very much (with TELPs patches), I am happy to say that I did not encounter any bugs. Now I have played through all M&M rpgs from the begining to an end.. !!SUPERB GAMES!! (especially ones with Jon Van Caneghem much involved)!
Now I'm playing Heroes II - Price of Loyalty, little while ago played through Roland's campaign in original Heroes II, it was very exciting.
Maybe my next rpg I play is going to be Planet's Edge.
I hope the M&M tribute is doing fine and will finish in one beautiful day, that I have to look forward to.

P.S. Does M&M IX make You some where a picture file from that diploma You get when complete? I did not find it in my HD. M&M VI-VIII sure does.

vepeli: gr8 collection
I've played only MM 6,7,8 (6 only 4 3 weeks, until some1 stole it to me *FRENZY*, 8 only for a week - it was borrowed from a friend who moved away *SAD* and 7....I have those holy 2 CDs in safety in castle Gloaming guarded by vampires and liches :D )

and about HOMAM: I've started with H2 demo, then full version, then H3 and its datadiscs, later H4 + datadiscs

they are no words to describe how great are these (HO)M&M games

Mod Note: No piracy discussions here. There is no such thing as "Abandonware", and until Ubisoft officially releases any of the earlier Heroes games as freeware, linking to sites were they can be downloaded won't be allowed. GC.

Helloo Adventurers!
Glunk..!

Thanks moderator! I stand behind of that noble thought 100%, please buy the games always, thats the way of supporting companies and to have them make more games. Use demos and reviews to ease choosing which to buy! I hope we understud klaymen incorrectly or You had problem with english and we get wrong idea, but no WAREz (=piracy=BAD THING) related talk in here please!
Just nice talk here about M&M being best and all.. :)

to Talin_Trollbane,
Hey, very nice M&M collection! Anvil of Dawn (a nice choice!) is very good game, in my NWC collection there are some games that aren't that good, usually the ones that did not have Jon Van Caneghem involved at all. Come back soon..

I had some additions to my collection and post that someday. Last weekend I completed Joe & Mac - Caveman Ninja, funny little game. I enjoyed it, it was quite hard, because it has been designed to old school player which is in my oppinion better of mastering game than todays gamer who generally likes more easy game and may be frustrated sooner if too difficult. I can recommend this game to someone who likes Platform game (platformer) it has also nice co-operative option so play with friend and increase fun.
By the way I think that the new Dark Messiah of M&M would be extremely great, if they put there co-operative option. Looks now already that its going to beat earlier same category M&M games (Crusaders & Warrios of M&M). As for if there is going to be M&M X someday in my oppinion there is no other choice that to employ JVC for lead design and hear what he has to say. Thas only way to make GREAT / SUPERB new M&M rpg.

Well anyway.. I think I go back to Heroes II - Price of Loyalty for now..

P.S. Little trivia for You : where do I get my opening frase and also some comments to Talin_Trollbane?
