Copying & Pasting Maps

Unread postby gmars3yp » 06 Jul 2009, 01:01

For a long while I have lamented the distinct lack of any feature in the Heroes II & III map editors allowing one to copy portions of one map and paste them into another. The ability to do this would open up several avenues for interest map making. One such avenue is the ability to create random maps for Heroes III with two overworlds instead of one overworld and one subterranean world. I do not care much for the subterranean realms as they are fairly monotonous and uninteresting to explore compared to overworld areas. (If anyone knows how to generate two-layer Heroes III maps with two overworlds without copying & pasting maps I would appreciate the secret to doing so too!) Aside from this however, there are many other things (particularly in Heroes II maps) that I would like to do requiring copying & pasting so as to save myself an inordinate number of hours painstakingly remaking vast areas of a map to exactly match another.

If anyone can help me, I would be most appreciative! Thanks. :)

Your help is appreciated Franzy, but alas I am only interested in Heroes II and III editors. Thanks though.
