Open the map from the Map Editor (it should show up in your Maps folder). Then check to see if it has been given a name in the Map Specifications in the Tools Menu. The name given in the Map Specifications is what shows up when you launch the game & click "New Game". If the map wasn't given a name in the Map Specifications, then it will be "invisible" when you try to load a new game.

Good Luck :)

If that doesn't work, then it's probably because you don't have the patches installed.

The map name should still appear I think, the only times I've experienced missing maps is when the maps are flawed in some way, like they have no name (as stated above) or no victory condition ... probably also if there are no human players available.

Can you specify which map you downloaded?

Those maps work. Make sure you have the latest patches and make sure your default map folder hasn't somehow been changed. If the .h4c is there and you're clicking on start new scenario then the maps *will* be there. They might not be the name you're expecting them to be under, but they're there. Maybe try puting them in a sub-folder so you know precisely what you're looking for.
