Hmm, top twenty. I downloaded it, so it's saved for the future generations. I may implement it in the h3maparchives too. ;)

some of those maps are really great i mean im sure there are plenty of other good maps these were just a list of my favourites. i could quite easily pick the top 20 out of those.

on another note keep an eye out for my latest map. not hell versus heaven although i love to play that map..

i have a new one which i have just finished called This is legion i have just sent it to ch.

its an xl map with underground
8 player multi play map (single player vs comp also available).
pick any of 8 factions and play as them..
insanely huge battles and the map is full open play.
there is protection but it wont last long and your exploring heroes will be under attack from the get go.
great map took my 3 days to coplete it 7 hrs a day :)

thanks so much!

Having been playing H3 for the past 9 years, the replayability now has to come in the form of custom made maps :D

to be honest pol what i would like to see on ch is the top 20 perhaps the admins could make a list of the top 50 maps and let the players pick the favourite 5 then compile a top 20 list in map archives.

it would be nice to go to maps and under maps a special link to the top 20
custom maps or campaigns.. could call it PLAYERS CHOICE. voted by the players.

thanx

Hello HoP,

I noticed that you included "Tolkien's Middle-earth" in the collection of maps zipped into one huge file. The question is which Tolkien map did you use? Was it "Tolkien's Middle-earth (allies)" or "Tolkien's Middle-earth"? There's a notable difference between the two H3 map files which appear to be very similar: the former is version 1.1 while the latter is version 1.3.

Both maps are allied maps despite the fact that only one of them bears the mention in its title. What makes this more ironic is the fact that "Tolkien's Middle-earth", the newer version of the two, features actually better multiplayer/co-op type of play than the file with that "allies" label on it. (version 1.3 adds Rohan as a human-playable faction, quite a change indeed)

I'm sincerely sorry about the confusion I may have unintentionally caused.

I hope these are only campaigns or single player maps, not multiplayer, otherwise you have to be kidding me...

most are single player maps, one is a campaign and there are a few multi player maps either for multi play or single play. either way they are all good maps in my opinion. doesnt mean everybody will like them!!!

The majority of those maps are very good maps indeed, the minority are crap or mediocre maps. If you say you included MP maps, i wonder why have not you included my ones like "Clashing Trilogy" and "Tatalian Inside Wars" and "Death In Tatalia", i can't think, but believe you simply missed them..

I mean you can't have 50 best maps without those 3 included or this is sick joke. Anyway...

These where supposed to be XL maps, why are there small maps too?

As you mentioned, the site is now down. Can anyone help me get a copy of this?

I've just gotten into map making and playing the HOMM3 stuff that aren't the XL maps, so any help is appreciated, thanks!

The huge map package file may have been erased from the original download link but its contents is still preserved and available in the Map Archives of ByteBandit & Pol. It just so happens that I do have a copy of some of the maps listed here in my harddrive so that people who are looking for these maps can as well turn to me for assistance if they wish to do so.

why dont you guys put them on CHeavens?

Unread postby cjlee » 30 Jul 2010, 10:38

If these maps are so wonderful, why not make them available directly on the Celestial heavens maps dl page? And why are some good mapmakers' maps not available on the maps dl page anyway? Surely it isn't hard to upload them if you are a site admin?

I checked out several links all to be disappointed.

This tread may help you getting most if not all those maps, it did wonders to me at least :)
