A possible use of eagle eye in special maps or when scrolls and tomes are involved.

You don't have resurrection, armageddon or other lv 4 spells and it doesn't appear in any magic guild but you have a scroll or tome for it. Only problem is only one hero can use it, you cannot share it with scholar to other heroes. Well here, you just have to send a scout with the tome or scroll, suicide vs an AI hero and fight him with the eagle eye specialist, tricking him to cast this spell. Make sure he is not overwhelmed so he doesn't flee. When he cast the spell, kill him, learn thes pell and recover the artifact. Now all heroes can profit from the spell. It has been tested and works well,

I only read the summary, but the greatest drawback of this skill is that it takes a skill slot. There are so many better skills out there...

I agree Eagle Eye's pretty silly, but I think it could be fixed. Maybe expert eagle eye should teach spells 100% of the time and allow the learning of fifth level spells? This would be incredibly useful for a Battle Mage.

Eagle Eye

Personally, I always wanted Eagle Eye to function in a similar way to resistance in a way. Say the enemy hero casts fireball at you, Serena would then learn the spell (immediately...not AFTER the battle) and due to her close inspection of the spell she sees how to counteract the spell. From that point on, she gains resistance from the spell or at least minimizes the effects of the spell.

Another possibility was to have it have a secondary aspect to it. Not only can you learn spells with it, but with each advanced level your ranged attacks achieve a higher accuracy towards vital spots (dealing slightly increased damage). Let's put that enhanced vision to work BOTH ways. It is Might AND Magic afterall. :O)

Problem with Eagle Eye is that unless you have a really big number of spells there will always be a better way to learn spells then using up a skill slot.

But being able to use the spell right away and giving some accuracy(reduce range of the dmg penalty at range)/dmg bonuses or something like that would porob help.

I can be substitute for wisdom for learning 3-4 lvl spells if u aren't satisfied with the ones in your town and if u know u can survive the battles against your enemies. Its also not bad for mages from stronghold and fortress.
