Can't update IV

I just got HoMM IV last week and I have been trying to update it. I don't know what version it currently is, but when I try to run any of the 4 patches it gives me an error about the registry / INI. I have tried reinstalling it but still nothing.

The game has Ubi logo on it right?

Then go to http://www.ubi.com/US/Downloads/Info.aspx?dlId=707 and read the description.

By the way game version is written in exe file properties. (rightclick on main exe and chose properties)

Alright my jewel case has the Ubisoft logo on it so apparently I don't need to update, but why is the latest version 3.0 and my .exe says it is 2.2? That doesn't sound up to date to me.

To find out with patch you got:
look in one of these files depending on Orginal and expansions installed
you can find these files in the eroes 4 folder
Readme.txt = Orginal
readmeGS.txt = The Gatering Storm
readmeWW.txt = Winds Of War

I've had the same problem with the ini. It seems to be an issue with the Ubisoft release. Mine says Version 2.2, and when I try to upgrade to 3.0 I get the same error. I have also been having an issue with installing my purchased CD of Gathering Storm. When trying to install that it says I need to install H4, but H4 is already installed and works fine. Darn Ubisoft and changing things...

Why the heck did they have to take over for 3DO (uncept Heroes 5 bt that s**k to afer my opinion)
