He can't die if he's immortal from lack of oxygen or food.

The fact that the tits are actually what they're called is what makes the joke above so funny, methinks. In Norwegian they're called "meis"; specifically the great tit is the "kjøttmeis" and the blue tit is the "blåmeis". Aaaand for those of you who aren't as daring as I, here they are.

The tits are gone for the day. Instead we have a red robin, and there were a couple of greater spotted peckerwo woodpeckers here earlier. In the midst of a landscaped absolutely weighted down with snow (there's a lot of snow in Norway this week, thanks to global warming), our garden is a veritable smorgasbord for the little featherballs. We have coconuts hanging from the tree (yes, they love it), we have frozen berries, birdfeed and bread, as well as an apple. Five types of food. No wonder the birdies keep coming. And although they've gone to bed for today, the tits will no doubt be back tomorrow.
