FIX: For all of those that have the "Washed out textures"
UPDATE, FIX FOR THE WASHED OUT TEXTURE:
To all those that have this problem,
atleast those with a 8800 nvidia cards
my post on the problem:
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/ ... 6891074227
been researching alot, 99% of all the solutions are not working, got tired and didnt care anymore and just played with washed out textures, and guess what, i found the solution, and wanted to share with all of you that have the same problem:
After 15 minutes or so of normal playing, the textures will go back to normal, even if you zone out from a town etc, battle, whatever, the textures will still remain perfect.
So all you gotta do is get your settings max to maximum or whatever you had before these problems, and keep on playing with the washed out textures, and sooner or later, it will go back to perfect textures.
Altough, if you alt+tab, change resolution etc, it will go back to the bad textures, but will go normal again pretty quick
Hope that helps, reply back if it works
and again, dont have to be exactly 15 minutes of playing, can be 10 minutes, can be 30 minutes, be patient
Edit: the link didnt work

This is so weird, I had a GeForce 6200 before and didn't have any problems at all.
And Borsuc says he has a 5200, and still works fine.

As mentioned somewhere, the "older" nvida cards dont have any trouble at all.
Its a compatability problem with the 8800 cards that are mentioned everywhere, even a fix that forces the card to use the old compability modes, as you find on cards like yours, but its rare that those works, the fixes i mean.

Are you sure it's the graphic card, or the drivers maybe?
I now have a 9600 and the game runs perfect on max settings. I don't know if it's a problem with 8800 only but it's definitely not a general problem with all new cards.

Hmmm... maybe i should try h5 on my new 8800ed rig... just so i can complain about it...
Oh, and btw, this isn't a fix as you're not actually doing anything.

It probably has to with the mipmap indeed... looks like the game sometimes messe up the mipmap value, which causes these blurs (I know that from my Quake3 experiences, where we puprosely tried to vaguen the textures)...
It could be a bug, but then it would have to be something about loading textures into the texture RAM of the gfx card...
It happens all the time in the editor, reloading (from the file menu) a map fixes it... In the game it happens only once in a hundred or something...

For me it never happened though, and I tried H5 on two different PC configurations (one of them had an old video card, while the current one has GeForce 9600 GT)ReinierK wrote:In the game it happens only once in a hundred or something...
