I just stayed up all night. Couldn't be bothered sleeping, since I'm having so much fun with the PC/plasma screen combo. This morning some builders came to fix our dodgy chimney. I can hear them mocking about up on the roof right now...

I'm looking for a job these days, teaching history. It'll probably be a temporary gig, since I haven't got the educational science course yet. I'm planning to take that in the autumn and get a permanent job somewhere. Meanwhile, since this is the weekend, I'm waiting for Monday to arrive so that I can apply for a couple of openings I've just found.
It's funny, reading the advertisements. Somebody wants a teacher to start immediately, i.e. this Monday. I wonder what happened to make it such an urgency; somebody slip or something? Other things are easier to understand; openings in the period from now and to the end of the year; that's a teacher on maternity leave.

Maybe the previous teacher quit due to being unable to deal with the rabblerousing students. I would ask lots of questions before taking that position.
In other news, I've been having fun lately playing around with iGoogle and various Google apps (Docs, Reader, News, Finance, and Gmail). It's pretty nice having everything displayed for me in one place.

Here's a conundrum: I got a subscription on a local newspaper for christmas. The paper comes once a week. The subscription which has the lowest per-paper price is for a full year, at 700 NOK. Meaning 13 and a bit NOK per paper. But they ship it with regular letter-mail, and the postage stamp says 23.78 NOK Meaning they've spent almost twice as much as you pay just to send it to you, and that's not counting the price of the actual newspaper.
The only explanation I can see is massive government subsidy. It sure seems odd though.

Who the hell locks these things?
