Of the games I've only played The Suffering, and I have to agree it's a very good game -- it has a very artistically made atmosphere. If you are just trying to show off by analyzing carefully the textures, yes they aren't very detailed, but I suggest you just play the game instead of . The game itself is very good and you also have an ability to transform into a beast which can level up -- it becomes too imba at last level (and it can be reached easily), if you jump you make some kind of powerful explosion & shockwave around you, knocking down everyone and damaging them -- if they don't die with one blow, you can just jump again -- they can't do anything, they're knocked down
You have to kill stuff with that creature if you want to improve its "experience points", but remember that it has a short time-span and if you go above it it starts to take your life so better watch out to transform back in time.
Also it has a good atmosphere and good NPCs, compared to some others (although I haven't played much) and you can choose to be good, neutral or evil and it'll affect your ending. Not to mention the flashbacks and all that but I'll leave it to you, no spoilers
Don't judge a book by its cover.

All humans do is to go to a place, bountiful of nature, and live there. Then the human multiplies and sucks all the wonders there. They move to the next. There is one thing that works the same way as that: a virus.

I've been playing for about an hour, and I must say I'm surprised you'd give this 9 out of 10. So far it's been repetitive shooting at one and the same kind of "monster" going through generic underground military/scientific type rooms. At the moment I'm stuck because I can't locate a computer I'm supposed to scan, even though I'm 0.5 metres close to it apparently. But that's okay, I don't think I'll bother running this mediocrity again.TheUndeadKing wrote: Name: Area 51

Well, maybe 9/10 was a bit too much, but I still think it's good enough to justify a high score. Think of it this way, most FPS games are exactly the same, and Area 51 is no exception. It has good enough graphics, good enough action and a good enough atmosphere to make it worth your time. And not to mention it's free. I consider that important, because I've actually paid for worse FPS games.

The Suffering is interesting enough. It looks and sounds a bit dated even for 2004 (considering that Half Life 2 was released the same year), but after half an hour you don't really notice anymore. The atmosphere is creepy (I jumped a little when, as I watched a security monitor, I noticed on the screen that a monster was right behind me -- but it was just an illusion). As a matter of fact, I played that game right before going to bed and during the night I had a weird nightmare about having to pick up my car right next to the house of a serial killer. Combat gets a little difficult soon enough, or maybe it's just me who's rusty -- I'll need to find a gun soon, this machette sucks. I'll play it again tonight.
Well you get used to it, after a while, I started to kill everyone with the Shiv alone, it was more challenging might I add, and you had to deflect and time your moves well enough, but it wasn't hard
The sequel is harder on max difficulty though, a lot harder.
And to be honest, I don't care it looks outdated for its time. It's a good game for me
