heroes V and hero's level cap!
is there a way to eliminate the hero's level cap?
a mod or something like that?
i can't take a certain final skill with isabel in the first campaign couse i should need more levels than the level cap allows to get in order to take that!!
in that case i want to take the unstoppable charge ability, but cant manageto have all the necessary levels (owing to hero's level cap) to take it!!
and besides that, the enlightment skill (that is one of the needed skill to get unstoppable charge)never showed up when i leveled up!

Well some skills have a very low chance to pop up for certain factions. For example, Defense for Dungeon has a 2% chance, and the Enlightenment for Knight is the same.
And about that Mod: it could be done, but that means to modify all the campaign maps, since the level cap is set in a map property.

No matter how powerful one becomes, there is always someone stronger. That's why I'm in a constant pursuit of power, so I can be prepared when an enemy tries to take advantage of me.
Hmm, sounds like a bug indeed. But what do you mean with "20 minutes"? You should end the turn and wait a few days (in-game days)

what a bug!
the demons lords never attacked dunmoore, not even once!!
they've just limited themselves to attack Godric once and Isabel another time but ,after that, they keep on going between the bridge and theirs own infernal city in a neverending loop!
i begin thinking that the last 1.6 patch is the most bugged one, considerd that with the previous 1.5 i'v never had a slight problem........
i'v decided to disinstall it and reinstall by patchin heroes V only 'till 1.5!!

You were just lucky for Enlightenment
As for the bug, perhaps a map restart could have helped, but I wouldn't be surprised if they added a bug in the new patch as well.

maybe i'v been lucky in getting it,but it's a needed skill for achieving "unstoppable charge",at least according to the skill wheel of :http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/he ... ties.shtml
You seem bent on getting this skill, but it's hardly worthwhile. You give up so much for it, and the benefit is so negligible. In fact, I think none of the ultimate racial abilities, even the extremely useful ones like Arcane Omniscience or Urgash's Call, is worth the cost.hewitt wrote: ...maybe i'v been lucky in getting it,but it's a needed skill for achieving "unstoppable charge",at least according to the skill wheel of :http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/he ... ties.shtml
Unstoppable Charge requires that you take Tears of Asha and Spoils of War, forgoing Soldier's Luck, and Refined Mana and Guardian Angel, giving up Master of Wrath. Not worth the trade-offs, in my opinion. I hardly ever even use Retaliation Strike, because it costs a hero's half ATB to apply it, and I can rarely afford to spare that, not when I could use that half ATB to cast a mass spell. This ability would be a bit more useful if they make it cost no ATB, like the Ranger's Imbue Arrow ability.
i always enjoy myself very much looking for new combinations of special abilitiesdanhvo wrote:You seem bent on getting this skill, but it's hardly worthwhile. i don't really think there are completely useless abilities or abilities much more useful than others!
each special ability has its own advantages and disadvantage and i believe they're all worth to be tried at least once!

What if you get Ignite but have no Fire spells at your disposal?hewitt wrote:i don't really think there are completely useless abilities or abilities much more useful than others!

But yes, I know what you mean.

If there is one ability completely worthless that you should avoid, it's Demon Lord's Soul Fire (from Sorcery)
The damage it does when you Consume a Corpse is pathetic - it's the same as Fireball, with a Spellpower of 1 (if the creature stack was not upgraded) or 2 (if it was upgraded)
I don't know what Nival were thinking when making it...

What do you mean? It depends, of course, on your strategy and possibly the map, enemy factions, etc.
Retribution is a very good ability for the Knight though, especially if you get lots of Morale (probably from Leadership skill, or some artifacts)
But you're playing vanilla H5 and not TotE and I don't know how the Skill Wheel looks like anymore, sorry I can't help much...
