Does anyone know what he is doing right now. I loked around the internet a bit and found that he had started a new company and left NCsoft. Wondering what he is doing now?

sadness

Unread postby Woolander » 13 Mar 2006, 19:05

I read one one of those forums that he had ended his gamingcareer finally. I think it's very sad becasue he realy mad some of the greatest games ever but not so many people knows about him. 3DO realy messed up his works at the end of his career and destroyed his games with might and magic 9 and homm 4. I just hope that he will get regognised someday for all his work.

The closest I heard was that would take some time off to pursue some hobbies, etc. but never an end.

Considerin' it was possible for a newspaper to track down several hundred undercover CIA agents using nothing but the internet, it shouldn't be impossible for a couple o' dozen crazy geeks like us findin' a guy with such a special name..

Jon Van Caneghem is a god, he was the one who created Heroes of might and magic. I owe him a lot.

Jon Van Caneghem is a computer game designer and producer. He is most recognized for creating the Might and Magic role-playing game series and its strategy spin-off Heroes of Might and Magic.

Van Caneghem founded New World Computing in 1983. The company was acquired by The 3DO Company in 1996. When 3DO went bankrupt in 2003, New World Computing also disappeared. In 2004, Van Caneghem joined NCSoft. Shortly after, he was inducted into Computer Gaming World's Hall of Fame. In 2005 he left NCSoft and is currently starting a new company in California.
