Random Thoughts - Second Edition
Yes... tell me about it: my wife, my mother-in-law, 2 close cousins, 2 close friends, plus some nephews & stuff and of course Santa (who I really used to like as a kid, but now, I don't know... he's getting more financially demanding every year...)darknessfood wrote:Busy day, and a painfull month. I finally installed and configured all my apps, and copied the important data from my old Hard Disk. ![big smile :-D](/forums/images/smilies/big%20smile.gif)
Everything runs much better, even H5 runs smooth on my current specs (even when I zoom out a lot).![smile_teeth :D](/forums/images/smilies/smile_teeth.gif)

No matter how powerful one becomes, there is always someone stronger. That's why I'm in a constant pursuit of power, so I can be prepared when an enemy tries to take advantage of me.

I think I said it somewhere before in this thread but here they are:
ASUS P5K Pro (motherboard)
Intel Core Duo 3 Ghz
2 GB Ram (Dual-Channel)
Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT 512 MB
A Seagate Hard Disk with SATA (I had IDE before)
compared with my former comp:
Don't know the motherboard, sorry (but it was old, didn't have any SATA slots)
Intel Pentium 4 Celeron 2.4 Ghz
1 GB Ram (Dual-Channel)
Nvidia Geforce 6200 128 MB
A Seagate Hard Disk with IDE
... the difference is immense![smile_teeth :D](/forums/images/smilies/smile_teeth.gif)

I bet. Even your old one is stronger than my best. BTW this sounds good > http://www.silentpcreview.com/Anitec_SilenT3_PC
A shadow side of this is that you cannot equip it with different board, the motherboard in the barebone t3 terminator is non-standart mATX.

That's not so big difference to making it a worthy idea.
Mine is > P4 Northwood, 1.7GHz, 512MB DDR, 120GB WD hdd, ATI UT 16MB.
Also don't forget that I'm "sitting" on hardware as technician so I can equip myself if needed. And it doesn't appeared so yet.![:P :P](/forums/images/smilies/p.gif)
(seriously I will get myself new comp in next year, really..)

Those aren't enough details Ash, I mean full specs, apart from the video card none of them have any "naming" or ID so I can't figure out what you use.
Then again my comp is kinda similar to your "old" one, but I have a GeForce FX5200, so it's weaker and I'm satisfied with it. The only problem is if it breaks and doesn't want to work anymore, other than that, it's good.
Me not need greedy consumption![smile_teeth :D](/forums/images/smilies/smile_teeth.gif)

All humans do is to go to a place, bountiful of nature, and live there. Then the human multiplies and sucks all the wonders there. They move to the next. There is one thing that works the same way as that: a virus.

My room is pretty organized, I have a nice drawer (or how is it called in English?) where I keep most of my computer-related stuff (including disks, etc) ![smile_teeth :D](/forums/images/smilies/smile_teeth.gif)

I bought a new CRT last year, I can't stand LCDs with their crappy quality (contrast) plus the one which was 'similar' to this one was twice as expensive. Not to mention that it looks like **** from different angles. ![:P :P](/forums/images/smilies/p.gif)
Only disadvantage is that it eats a bit more energy... but that's it.
Weight? Why would it be an issue? I use the monitor to watch at it, not to move it around the house![:P :P](/forums/images/smilies/p.gif)
