CRC errors are too freaky if you ask me :|
I mean come on, HD scanned 100% healthy but still CRC errors? (my case)

Yep actually I did that, and it finally worked... now onto installing everything all over again, from drivers to applications & games... and then configuring Windows & everything else.

But this a little later, after I surf the net with my laptop. :D

I can't understand how people can do that over and over again... probably I would kill myself instead of having to do it again :disagree:

(ok not really but you get the idea :P)

Why they just couldn't make an .ini file for their applications to store the configurations instead of in the registry. :disagree:

Does anybody know a good freeware 3gpp to anything-else (avi, for example) converter? I usually played 3gpp files with Quick Time, but now Quick Time doesn't work anymore (dunno why).

I guess that super could do that. And quite likely also free koyote video converter 1.4...., which appears to be easier. However, to be honest, I don't use that format.

My phone records videos in that format, so I have no choice :)

Let me guess, you have Nokia. :D

Mine loves mp4. Just and only and exclusively.

Even if you try to install Quick Time again or update it, it still doesn't work?

Nope, never had a Nokia. I'm a Sony Ericsson fan :D

No, Asheera, Quick Time just won't work anymore. The only thing I haven't tried yet is reinstalling Windows.

Ok I found this free player, if you're interested in it. (scroll down a bit)

I've got a question: Someone recommended me to use one of those registry cleaning programs, so that the comp will be faster. So, I found EasyCleaner - is it absolutely safe to run it, or there is a risk of destroying my registry and make the computer not work properly?

I use Registry Clean Expert, and I think it is "safe", but of course you are not required to CLEAN the registry -- it can also serve as a registry backup tool or registry defrag tool (these are sure not to cause anything bad).

Only cleaning might break something but I doubt it -- you can always make a backup before anyway, in case you have doubts.

Hmm, and what if Windows won't start anymore? How would I be able to restore the backup?

ahh, you won't I guess, not from that one. Not sure if you can boot it up from another one and restore since that would restore it to the "other one" (the one with which you booted). I guess you'll need to manually replace the registry after restoring to the "other" one.

I kinda agree with the T here. When installing windows, it's always nice to make 2 partitions. Myself, my HDD is 160Gig. 30 is for my OS, and the rest is for other stuff (installing games on it, that way you don't lose your precious savegames). When windows goes @$$ on you, just reinstall it :)!
You can either agree with me, or be wrong...
