Do expansions change main campaign experience?

Unread postby lokiju » 21 Nov 2008, 01:25

Hello, I was wondering...if I install either of the expansions, will the main HoMM V experience change in any way, or will the new content only work in the expansion campaigns?

Thanks!

Thanks. With many games and their add-ons, if you start from the original game, having the expansion installed adds new content to the original. I am 50% done with the original, didn't want to keep going if I could have better options with the expansions installed first.

Alternatively you could install the last expansion and then find that campaign mod someone posted a while back (it's how i played the HoF campaign).

The second expansion (TotE) is a stand-alone, meaning that it works without any of the previous games installed - it's like a new completely different game.

Moreover, it has all features of the previous games, except the Campaigns and Single Scenarios, which you can download here. However, note that if you play the original and HoF campaigns in TotE you'll probably have the TotE mechanics, etc.

Heh, I meant that it works like a new game, not that it has everything new. :P

Then you should have said stand alone game or something like that...

lol I actually did say that at the beginning of my post, read it again if you'd like :P (and see that I didn't edit it - otherwise it would have said)

I just wanted to explain what's a stand-alone game, since some probably don't know :)

I feel like I walked in on two brothers arguing about something that really isn't worth getting worked up about. 8|

Thanks for the answers though.

Don't take it seriously... most discussions with TT are not serious :D
