Music Problem! (MM7)

Unread postby Kefas » 19 Oct 2008, 00:49

I have searched, but I didnt find anything that helped. ^^

While playing MM7, there is no music, all other sound works fine.

I have moks patch installed. I am using vista home 64x. I have tried running in compability mode, and changed the settings in the configuration utility.
Been trying to fix this for a while now.

Any help would be awesome!
Thanks!

I've got the same ;)
You do not have full version of the game - must be on 2 CDs.
Music is playing from CD. Can't tell more cause do not have music files too. But have the treks :D

There are about 20 sound themes, looks something in spirit of Heroes 3.

If someone can post a full list of treks, neme, resolution and destination of this files - I can made this by myself.

Well, I have the CDs. Both of them.

Where did you get the sound themes?

I downloaded them in MP3 format separately. :baby:
If you've got both CDs - try to search them for the tracks. If they exist but not playeng - this is another one problem. ;)

cant find any tracks on the cds, and not in the MM directory. Not anywhere else either. :(

But there ought to be music playing in the game, no?

Just a classic audio tracks, try exact audio copy to see them on cd.

And as to making it works, these threads should shed more light on it.

Kefas, have you tried running the game from your DVD drive? This trick works on some systems (including mine) for some unknown reason.

mm6-8 uses archaic way of storing music as audio tracks. That means if you somehow got image of cd ( i presume that you dont want to use cd drive since its damaged or something :P) music wont play. That also means that if you burned image on disc you wont get music unless you add audio tracks manualy.
Also problem can be because of cd drive that it doesnt aquire music tracks prorperly.

What do you think - so I didn't test it in MM7...

It was many years ago, I had Quake2 game without music. But I forget to eject a musical CD from the ROM and - While playing quake2 I had a music from the CD!!!

What do you think if insert another one music CD in the ROM - will music be play in MM7?

Well one option is that you somewhere get image of disc. Then go to some web site that have given music and using nero or some other program you burn game files on it and add mp3 files as audio tracks on it(preferably in right order otherwise you will get wrong music on wrong locations , but themes are called exploration theme 1,2,3 and so on.). Considering you already have legal disc doubt its that much of a crime to get game image and music files.
