Talk about the weather
I'm a city boy, so I never really get far enough into the country to experience the road conditions you're describing. We get ice occasionally, but it doesn't last long after the road is plowed and the sun gets a chance to beat on it. ABS and Traction Control have always suited me just fine.
Peace. Love. Penguin.
I don't have a car.
Funny story though, one of the "outsiders" here once got stuck in the snow. A local with some large vehicle dragged him out, but all he said before helping was "You don't have a 4WD!?" in an extremely condescending tone, like only these people can. Though of course, they also shift from cars to snowmobiles in the winter.

Geez... what kind of place can be that? And what altitude?Kalah wrote:Ethric, who lives in a place hardly anybody else does, will probably experience this "sensible prioritizing" of road safety first-hand once the snow starts falling.

OH MY GOD !!!!
I've been in such places. Although not sea-level, rather high. But far away from civilization, and where the -30 and snow are just as normal like sunshine in Sahara.Kalah wrote:Sea-level altitude, but far up north in a (I wouldn' say "rural", but...) not-so-big town faaaar away from... well, civilization, really.
