can't figure out how to use Heroes V map files I download.

I recently downloaded a map, used the map editor to create a "maps" folder, put the map file in there, triple checked that it was HoMMV standard map file (it is in fact a HoMMV standard map file) load up Heroes V, and still doesn't recognize it. what is wrong?

Did you put a check mark in the "Show multiplayer maps" box? It is at the top of the screen when start the game and go to custom maps.

yes, it doesn't show up at all, it's a very large map that is listed as a 1 player map. the maps that show up with the box checked only show 4 very large maps and none of them are the map I am trying to get to work.
