Leprechaun Power

Unread postby cherko » 04 Mar 2006, 19:40

I did an interesting experiment with leprechauns for heroes 4, and the result was... surprising. REEEEAAAALLY surprising. What I did was, I made a map where you had a leprechaun and a lvl 70 hero with all magics and I gave the leprechaun all possible buffs (EXCEPT retribution, I gave the leprechaun regeneration but realized it could win without it) and I tried how much the leprechaun could kill.
And the results... PM me with your e-mail if you want 'em. I think the save file requires WoW, but I'm not 100% sure.
I'm back!!!

leprechaun stats

Unread postby csarmi » 04 Mar 2006, 21:26

Well, my leprechaun easily defeated a megadragon. He had 26 health and the dragon did like 7 damage each and there goes regeneration (not even needed).

How are you gonna do that? The leprechauns even with all their buffs would get killed by the mega dragon, won't it? Come on, its a level 1 vs a lvl...erm...5? creature.

The question is HOW MANY leprechaund did you have? 500? 700? 1k?

With all boosts like Catreflexes, Pain mirror, Vampirism, D.Strenght, etc. so many lev1 units can even kill M.Dragon.

Btw. Did your hero gave Att/Deff with tactic?

I'd appreciate if you could send me your save on black_ghost@o2.pl :)

Does every possible buff include guardian angel?
Far too many people speak their minds without first verifying the quality of their source material.

Since I believe they would come back without any other spells, I don't think GA would matter that much. If the Megadragon can't kill the Leprechaun in one round, and the Leprechaun has Regeneration, it will wear the MD down eventually, no matter how pitiful damage it would do...

I killed 1 megadragon with 1 leprechaun too. I used tactics, not that it was needed that much, but it looked just great to have a green man with 16 movement, 23 speed, 10 morale and luck, chaos ward, 50 attack and 103 defense doing 5-5 damage and having 26 hp. 103 defense only defending... If leprechaun attacked, it did like 10ish damage and took 6-7 damage from all attacks. Regeneraton was used but not exactly needed (if it hits defend all the time, the megadragon will be worn down cause of vampire touch.

I got some nice screenshots but I am too lazy to post it.

Hehe that reminds me of a map by Chris Thiart (hope the name is well spelled) in H3. There you win the map with only a peasant (+ ballista) and in the end you have to kill a red dragon. The more difficult fight was vs wights because of their regeneration :).

Actually, the hardest battles were those against any kind of shooter- you were dead if they got to move first... It was a great mao anyway, just like almost all of Chris' maps were...

A leprechaun with 1000 hit points? Are we talking about the same game here? 8|

Yes we are. I saw what I saw- leprechaun with 1k HP :outoforder:

I'm just curious, how did you managed to cast Heavenly Shield on leprechaun? It's possible to cast only on heroes, isn't it?

Steal enchantment. You have to cast it on your hero first, of course.

How does a leprechaun end up with 1000+ hitpoints? Even if the hero is level 70 and has all magic schools there's hardly anything he could do to get even close to that number.

Edit: I see Steal enchantment's been mentioned. How do you steal a spell from yourself?

So the scenario in question is hypothetical and would never occur in a real battle...? There's a shocker. ;)
