It's better to have more of them than some bonuses on them.Banedon wrote:I'm surprised so few people went for Galthran, when the Skeletons are so crucial to a Necropolis army.
Heroes 3: Favorite Death Knight
"Rage against the system, the system, what kills the human spirit."
Voted Tamika.
Charna - Tactics is worthwhile, but the Wights specialty doesn't add much
Clavius - Solid secondary
Galthran - Skelly specialty will help, but will it help as much as Tamika's Death Knights?
Isra - Any Necropolis hero is gonna end up with a ton o' skellies anyway, so the specialism doesn't seem worth it.
Moandor - Learning is a wasted secondary skill
Straker - Undead are already resistant / immune to a lot of spells, and the Resistance secondary skill can help with the rest. But the specialism is not good - maybe useful in a siege if you have hoarded your Zombies / Walking Dead, but pointless for a main
Tamika - Beefing up the undead's most powerful unit, and Offense is a better secondary than Galthran's Armourer
Vokial - Vamp specialty is great, especially if you can get them in high enough numbers. But you might not get a chance to use that Artillery specialty.

My first glance at UHO's post my reaction was "you're crazy, zombies is teh suxx0rz".
But then I think back to my experience with the Necropolis, it's that until you get enough money for Vampire Lords or Knights or grown enough skeletons, the Necropolis doesn't actually anyone to "take the battle to the enemy", so I end up using Zombies a lot at least for soaking damage. So the bonus could be useful. Dunno about picking your hero for non-specialized Haste...
But if I was picking a hero for getting myself started, I'd go with Clavius. Both Isra and Galthran's bonuses, making more skeletons or being good at using them, are nice.
I'm going with Vokial. Once your Vampire Lords do enough damage to heal themselves completely, it's game over, and Vokial gets you there twice as fast, and then he gets the vampires to the enemies a tiny bit faster.
