It's good. A bit stronger than the 12-year-old, and with a slight aftertaste of something I'm not quite sure of. I like a scotch that has aroma even with 40% alcohol in it :)

The aftertaste is the most important thing in a whiskey, there is where a Johnny is a Johnny and a Glenlivet is a Glenlivet :)

Yeah, which is why I don't like things like Jack Daniels and Bell's... they just taste of booze.

Jack isn't special, but you can't say that isn't good. It's somewhat of the low-end of the good whiskeys. Bell's (supposedly Ballantine's) is a good whiskey with a caramel aftertaste, and it's really good mixed with Coke, in one glass, what most other whiskeys don't support fully.

Fresh, fruity summer drinks :yummy:

The Danish website rejseliv.dk (travel-life) have done some extensive research and come up with a list of the 5 best summer-drinks. Which are your favourites? :)

1. Gin og Tonic - A classic, quick and easy to make.

3 cl gin
9 cl tonic
2 slices of lime

2. Sangria - There are several Sangria-recipies; here's one that's simple and not too sweet:

3 oranges (slice two, squeeze the juice from the third)
1 bottle of red wine
1/4 cup of sugar
1/4 cup Cointreau/Grand Marnier'

Mix it all up and put it in a large pitcher. Cool overnight. Yum. :)

3. Margarita

3 parts tequila
1 part Cointreau/Grand Marnier
2 parts lime-juice

Dip the edge of a cocktail glass in lime-juice and then in rough salt, to form a layer of lime and salt on the edge. Slot in some ice cubes, shake the ingredients in a shaker and pour it in. :)

4. Moijito

8 mint leaves
2 teaspoons of sugar
The juice of half a lime
4 cl white rum
A dash of Perrier

Crush the mint leaves in a tall glass, add ice cubes, lime-juice and rum. Stir and top it off with some Perrier.

5. Strawberry Daiquiri

4 cl white rum
3 cl lime-juice
1 teaspoon of icing sugar
3 - 4 fresh strawberries

Mix it up in a blender with a cup of ice cubes, until the consistence is like a wet sorbét. Served in cocktail glasses with a slice of strawberry on the edge :yummy:
