HoMM 4 bugs and patches

I know that this has probibly been said before, however I did not see it in any of the forums.

I am having a problem in the "beebee and the three pigs" sinerio and I start to get into battle. Everyone gets thier turn and all is well until it is my druid's turn. If I move my mouse the slightest bit the game kicks me out to the desktop.

I have tested various options: deleting my temp files; changing my display options (both changing my resolution to 800 x 600 and changing color to 16bit).

After this I tried downloading the patch that brings the version from 2.2 to 3.0 only to get that well known error about the old file not being found. Not only do I get that error, but right when I start to load the patch I get an error about the registry.

I had the game on the J drive and thought that was the problem, so I uninstalled it and installed it on C drive. No luck.

I called Ubisofts tech support and that didn't help, now they want a diagnostic of my computer which could very well be a breach of my computers security, so I don't want to do that.

I believe that the problem is that the patches I got on the web and now recently found at your site are for the game published by 3DO who was bankuped 2 years ago and gave thier game to Ubisoft. I think that because of this the game information is put in a different place in the registry with a few other little changes.

I don't know what else to do.

Just for clarification: you have bought the game recently, and it came with Ubisoft's logo on it? In that case, I believe you're right in the fact that the patches doesn't work because ubi changed some things in the registry. No idea what you could do about it except ask Ubi to actually remake the patches as well (unless they already have and you just haven't found them).

I have already checked thier website, and they don't have anything to change teh version to 3.0. I will ask ubisoft about putting the 3.0 patch up for thier version. I am not sure if it will work, because I am sure that that request has been made before.

If anyone would like to also make this request to Ubisoft, that would be most helpful, not just to me but to all the other unfortunates who bought thier version.
