The only thing i didn't like so far was the part where you ditch the spinning section ships... artificial true gravity field should be end tier tech... only for the most advanced races that can bend space at the molecular lvl, or create gravitons (which we haven't even detected, just infered).
Although i'd love to see ships using real gravity as per this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_gravity#Mass (s ship built around some super-dense material).

Haven't played enough Sins to tell... but the game is not without problems (you need to learn how to control all weapons and what they do coz the AI ain't very good and once you get to shield combat you might end up not damaging the enemy at all, the story is nothing special, the diary entries being funny though, and it's annoying that you can't move unless you have pre-placed points, though there where some complicated instructions on the net on how to move anywhere).
But look at that tech demo... IMO the game is worth buying only for getting someone to make that into a new game (the original devs where bought by another company or something like that...)
