Our true look [images]
Of course. I'm an impatient soul... All right... a few snapshots of my trip to Germany in the summer of -05:
Breakfast in Leipzig. We went to Trier via Kiel, Berlin, Leipzig, Frankfurt and Koblenz. Tour de Germany, so to speak.
Koblenz, as seen from the castle on the hilltop. It's been turned into a hostel. Se the rivers Rhine and Mosel converging?
This is what the Mosel valley looks like from the bottom of it; wine stocks as faaar as the eye can see
A nice little town. Lots of those...
... as you can see.
Me at a café in Trier. As you can see... it's bucketing down. That didn't stop us. There had to be ice cream.
You can take a tour on that boat. Never done it, though.
One of the castles. Can visit some of them.

Sure, if you do it right. The problem we had on our trip (my ex and I) was that she wanted to travel in the evenings, spending the mornings and days in cities, shopping etc. That made it impossible for us to stay at the small, local, privately run places in the small towns; they close at about three, four in the afternoon. So we had to stay in hotels, or make sure we had reservations. We could of course ensure that we had reserved rooms in hostels etc. before we went (and we did, in Berlin and Trier), but it took away some of the spontaneity we wanted. It turned into a trip where we had the most fun staying in the same place for a couple of days, so that's how I want to do it next time. Staying in e.g. Koblenz and Trier and spending the days either in those cities or travelling around in the valley and returning.

Sure. But where to start? My dad says he'll buy me a trip to Thailand for my honeymoon, but I've got to get hitched firstMilla aka. the Slayer wrote:Wouldn't it be more fun to go somewhere you haven't been before?
I actually haven't been outside of Europe yet, but there are a few places on my "want-to-go-there" list. But I like Germany. It's not far away, so I could just go for a week or something, without too much hassle.

riiiightTalking (the music was too loud )
yes I have, remember I was born in Holland and lived there til I was 6, been to italy, austria and a few places that I still rememberA question: Have you ever been abroad? Or travelled within the vastness of Australia? I have the feeling that despite shrinking distances created by airplanes and such, Australia is a bit isolated
I have been to Queensland, South Australia (twice), Victoria (3 times) and Tasmania .... remember that where we stayed in Queensland (the Gold Coast) is about 3700km's from Perth as the crow flies, and Melbourne (capital city of Victoria) is a direct 2720km's from Perth
apart from interstate travel, I have been to Karratha which is about 1500km's, we used to regularly travel to Denmark (the town not where Milla hangs out ) which is about 410km's and often travel to bunbury/busselton/margaret river area (south west of Perth - beautiful place) which is around 230kms from perth
so yeah, we travel around a bit
as for isolated, sure it is, that's what planes are for

Yeah, that's why I'm sharing those times with you now. I'm in a really good mood, and having fun as much as I can. I've lived too long without sharing my time with others. A big mistake, if you ask me. Living and learning, eh?
