I liked "The four feathers" and I really loved "A knight's tale", and albeit Jack Nicholson might be considered 'the one, the only' Joker, I was really looking forward to see what Heath would do with that part. Now I'm just hoping the in-production Batman movie still contains a decent piece of him.
In War: Resolution, In Defeat: Defiance, In Victory: Magnanimity, In Peace: Goodwill.
I liked that guy... such a pity...

Every funeral is sad, but the saddes of all is a parent mouning his child, even if he was 28.
And the loss to be greater the the a kid lost his father indeed.

How many of you believe in any form of the afterlife?

Bummer... I saw the breaking news last night just before going to bed, and I could hardly believe it. Of all the music/movie stars I can think of, he was maybe one of the least I would expect to end up like this. Geez... he was even younger than me.
He became one of my favorite actors after A Knight's Tale and he did a pretty good job in all other movies I saw with him.

I very much doubt it was suicide:Milla aka. the Slayer wrote:if it is indeed suicide...
If he wanted to die, it would have been just one bottle, and pretty much empty. But the above indicates the man just had problems with sleep and anxiety, and accidently just took an overdoze.Police on Wednesday said they found bottles of prescription sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication in his bedroom and in the bathroom; there were still pills in the bottles.
To come back to The Black Knight movie mentioned above, when I found out about the Joker being in, and that Heath will play it, I felt strange for two reasons. First - although I didn't mind another Batman movie - I found it was a bit too soon to bring back characters of pretty successful movies of only 10-20 years ago. In its greed for money, Hollywood can't seem to wait even 20-30 years before doing a remake. Secondly I found it strange that they chose Heath to be the Joker. I mean, you have to be a bit weird to start with (like Nicholson), to be able to play such a psychopat. He was too nice of a guy, and I will never understand why they chose him. This is not even about being a good actor, but also having a personality that matches at least at some level with the character. And - as reports say - this was really not for him:
So the job kinda finished him physically & psyhically. If two Ambien pills worked for only an hour, in a weak moment he probably went over doctor's advise and took too much, just to have a full night's sleep, which proved to be fatal.Ledger said in an interview in November that "Dark Knight" and last year's "I'm Not There," took a heavy toll. He said he "stressed out a little too much" during the Dylan film, and had trouble sleeping while portraying the Joker, whom he called a "psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy."
"Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night," Ledger told The New York Times. "I couldn't stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going." He said he took two Ambien pills, which only worked for an hour.

Possible. But if his efforts of delivering the most believable psychopath have anything to do with his death, that will bring quite a shadow over the movie...asandir wrote:by all reports his joker gig was excellent, but we will see,...

When I was a child, I liked Joker's style in the comics, but later when I saw Nicholson playing it, I got dissapointed. So I don't think I'll remember him because of that movie, rather for A Knight's tale, 10 things...
On the other hand, I don't think that "weird" is a good word for death, rather emptiness, because it leaves holes in the souls of those who mourn.
Anyway, how was that core philosophy slogen from H5's Necro? "Death is peace, order, everlasting beauty"?
