Saw Alien vs. Predator: Requiem today. It's a lot better than the first. Fair enough, that isn't very difficult to accomplish.

Well, basically there isn't much of a plot, people are pretty much just there to be killed, and the predator is a bad ass.

Jerome Bixby's The Man from Earth is a very nice and sort of refreshing kind of movie. No fast-paced 'action', just talking about an interesting idea. I've never seen something quite like it.

Watched "The Bourne Ultimatum" the other day. Rubbish. They shoulda called it: "Chasing Jason". That's basically what was going on. People running and driving after Jason Bourne.

The first film is one of my faves. Great story, surprise after surprise after surprise, and excellent coordination throughout. What works in "The Bourne Identity" was the fact that even the character didn't know what the hell was going on. One minute he was standing in a room, trying to figure out who he is, a second later he's kicking the ass of several US marines. And for each ne fight he manages to pull something new out of the hat. But whenever Bourne flaunts his skills in the sequels, you know he's capable of stuff like that, and you also know why. It's not surprising any more than is seeing Steven Seagal or Chuck Norris beat up terrorists.

The two Bourne sequels just ruin the story of the first. I tend not to want to see sequels of movies I like, for that very reason. Now I'm going to close my eyes, go to my happy place and pretend the two second films don't exist, and that Jason and Marie live happily ever after in Casablanca or wherever. I thought that was a nice ending; the government writing them off as "gone forever, case closed" and the two spending their time off the radar screen for the rest of their lives.
