Can't install patch - "Game not found" error

Unread postby Shadowfaqs » 06 Jan 2008, 14:33

I just reinstalled HOMM5 and I am not able to install the patch for Hammers of Fate.

My hard drive is "K" drive, not "c" drive because I stupidly had my usb/card reader hub connected when I did my last format of my drive, so it screwed up my drive letters.

Anyway, when I try to install the 2.01 patch for hammers of fait, it tells me that the game isn't found and it cancells. I tried this by manually downloading the patch and then tried the auto-update, both with the same results. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Thanks

Well, if the patch indeed has an issue with hard drive letters, you could always try switching those: Control Panel ---> Administrative Tools ---> Computer Management ---> Right click on the disk in question and choose "Change Drive Letter and Paths".

Ya, I did that with my disk drives, but trying to do that with my hard drive does not work: "windows cannot modify the drive letter of your system volume or boot volume" is the message I get.
