I sleep in my underwear, can't stand to sleep in a t-shirt och a night dress, it just twists around and I feel like a trapped worm.

Long T-Shirt style nighty most of the year. When it's cold, I opt for those totally un-sexy flannel PJ's.

seems so, I originally thought there'd be a sway to the nude and the t-shirt/nightie brigade, but not so much at the moment

Nude is generally better for men. They aren't expected to get up in the night to tend to the kids... or the dog... or anything else for that matter.
