ahhh, we get smoked tasmanian salmon .... it's kinda like our Margaret River wines compared to your swill ;)

Yeah... the only difference is that Tasmania is some 2750 kilometres away from Perth - it's like saying I'm eating Canadian or Siberian fish. This fish was fished only about 200 kilometres from where I live...

I don't usually consume anything you'd consider "real food." I'm not a fan of cooking for one, so I tend to stick with sandwiches, soups, pasta, and eating out.

cooking is great, cause you get the best food outta it, unless you're a crap cook of course :)

Same here OD. When at work, it's noodles or sometimes I dine out. The only day I get to taste real food are during weekends when my mom cook us a variety of native Filipino foods, I love it! That's why I'm always looking forward for weekends. :D

I like the weekends cause they're a chance to spend more time with my wife and kids!

I enjoy getting in on the cooking as much as possible, it's quite a lot of fun, though Mel certainly does most of it

It's not that I'm a bad cook. I'm just lazy. Plus I don't really follow a set schedule outside of school, so I never know when I'll be home to cook.

Probably the most frequent thing I prepare is pork marinated in white wine with rosemary. Simple and delicious.

sounds good .... food is almost always so much better when homemade though, that's why I try to avoid takeaway .... it's just not as tasty

Tell me about it. We spent Thanksgiving at a restaurant for the first time ever this year. It was quite depressing and bland.

Well, me, the only thing I could prepare is bacon and most of the time, the oven do the job for me. My mom usually teach me how to cook, but I think my mind is not absorbing it. I usually forget what she just taught me most of the time.

that's cause cooking is about getting your hands dirty and doing it! and practice is what makes a cook good, not so much any particular skills (I'm talking about home cooks, not chef's here)

If by good you mean able to not get the whole family into the hospital from starvation i agree... but imo enjoying great food enough to take the time to prepare it right is what makes a good cook.

Made another sallad today. The same as yesterday, but without tomatos and with boiled eggs. I think I'll skip the onions next time though...

I learned to cook by the time I was 13 out of self defence. Every child in my family did. My mother is a TERRIBLE cook!
