Four Sylvan Heroes

Unread postby Angelspit » 15 Feb 2006, 21:10

It has been a surprisingly quiet week so far, perhaps because of the Olympics, but Ubisoft gave us a little treat. The four Sylvan hero bios that appeared on the official portal have been reprinted . I already have a crush on Ylthin, who bears a vague resemblance to Liv Tyler in the Lord of the Rings. Her three companions look especially mean for a bunch of peaceful elves. You wouldn't want to mess with them.

The Dungeon Heroes page has also been updated with the descriptions from the official site. Gone is my own translation of the article!

Peacefull elves? Didn't they like have a huge fight with the humans that lead to the Dark Elves former home being almost destroyed, then tried to kill them all because of something the demons did?

Ylthin is going to be my personal favourite I think! ;)
I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

A little boring. The war dancers and druids look better than these.

Well, I guess Ylthin proves that not every character is a 17 year olds fantasy chick.
Age is a state of mind.

"what's with the MASSIVE chins?"

It is a paternal genetic mutation passed down from Father to Son. There is a thriving plastic surgery business on the outskirts of Sylvan Village....

The elephants some of my heroes have been riding around are more appealing than her. Get a grip.

great? ok maybe I'm a little cranky today but the male heroes look like crazy indians, not like the noble, pure, gracefull and wise elves we are use to; they are more like savage forest elves with (OMFG) feathers... oh well at least Ylthin saves the day

Dude, you want elves ala LOTR? Im glad these are different and not a darn copy of lotr, im tired of pale, high elves and immortality, these elves live in the woods, train to survive (thats why the muscles, its pretty logical) and live in hamony with the beasts and eachother. Its nice with an indian look on those elves, because indians also lives, or lets say lived in harmony with nature (guess who corrupted the indians making them modern and plain boring as most of us western invaders) and had the right to defend themself against intruders seeking to destroy the nature either for money or just to exterminate them for their future plans.

I doubt the heroes will be changed, and im glad for that, I dont want any more noble elves, paler than milk, we have the dark elves as cowardly, pale, neutral-evil elves this time =)

I like them - elves are at the base wood people. Nobility is in their attitude, not look. Elves are taller, slender but well muscled - good job to the artist!

Well with Gem or not, but I had a keen eye for Mephala back in H3, when playing Rampart she was always my Hero of choice. Man, I did not expect that Sylvan Heroes would look like this, I'm disappointed! The chick is all right but the rest are just WOW, I did not see that coming! This Findan guy looks all right, he has nice tatoo on his right arm. Man...

Just wondering why all the male elfs are so upset and how come they kind of look the same (same profile, not very well individualised like other heroes, take dungeon heroes for example), hmm... and why does Findan who is a poet and a diplomat look like Arnold? Well not every new change is a good change...

To muscular for your taste or are their background story somewhat simple, unusal or/and aggressive for wood elves to be? We are talking about wood elves here not high elves , dark or night elves. Wood elves are avengers of the nature, its protectors, high elves are mostly very wise and imbued in immortality (some says they are higher beings, close to angels) and dont always live in the woods, they search sometimes contact with other races, making diplomacy and getting knowledge about them and other hidden mysteries. Dark elves are evil/neutral and are the outcasts from the other elf races, they are searching for revenge because of it or just hides in dark and have shy attitude and warfare, night elves can be any of the previous, only living at night, obviously =P
