Good multi-player maps?

Unread postby JohnDoe777 » 06 Nov 2007, 23:14

Hi
Me and my friends have come to be quite picky when it comes to maps, and the things we like are:

1. Only one starting town per player, and no "extra" towns to be found.
2. All players start under similar conditions. All starting locations are "playable" and any race can be chosen.
3. Players have their own "starting zones" that are guarded by higherlevel creatures, which makes it take AT LEAST 2-4 weaks before u can actually reach eachother.
4. The map isnt to large or to small (sounds stupid i know, but ya'll know what i mean! :) ), Large without underground or medium with underground is ok. And not to many players either! 4-6 is about right.
5. There are "highlevel" zones with tougher creatures, better rewards (dragon utpopias" etc. that can be reached by everyone. These zones are however not to extreme, finding them shouldn't mean you're guaranteed win.

One map that we've come to love is "rise to power" because it's just the way we want it, but we havn't found many others. Anyone else who likes the same kind of maps and can recommend some (in-game that i might have missed or downloadable)?

I've been playing 'former friends' lots because there are enough resources and easy mines, and the map is nicely split up into sections. It's towards the smaller end of what you specified, but it's my favourite map so far.

Well I don't know but I think since you're really "picky"...

6. There is pretty much the same amount of mines in each "starting zone" with 1-2 for normal resources and none-1 for better resources.

I don't know i just thought you might want it in there... ;)

Former friends looks nice.. thx!
As to the mines, as long as it's even i'm good.. But sure, the amount you suggest is nice.
Forgot earlier though:
7. Winning condition: Defeating other players. (Anyone knows where to change winning conditions in the map editor btw?)

No, the RMG is sucky for so many reasons.. It places to many neutral towns for example, and the rest is just way to random!
