Druid *UNIT* evolution
Yeah, I put an emphasis on "UNIT" because as most of us know, Druids were a hero class in H3 and H4. And some will argue that the druid unit was present in H3, simply renamed to Monk; Zealots also made the same laser blaster sound as H2 druids. Who said there wasn't any sci-fi elements in the Heroes franchise?
My favorite Druid unit, if I could have found an image to upload, was the original King's Bounty Druid. He was a short old bearded man who cast Lightning Bolts at foes (only 3 per battle though, If I remember right).
A question that has been on my mind forever is: are H2 druids male or female? They look female but sound male.
H1 Druid (ever noticed their evil smirks when they shoot?)
H2 Druid
H2 Greater Druid
H5 Druid
H5 Druid Elder
H5 High Druid

Voted for the HoMM I druid, I like that his robe is specked with green. Haven't noticed the evil smirk, though! Probably because I always look at the enemy who's being shot at.
The HoMM II druids are just as great. I've always thought of them as male, for no special reason.
The HoMM V ones, ah... It's not that they're bad, it's just that they're too tacky, and too muscly for my tastes. Of the three, I'd vote for the unupgraded druid, if it were not for the ridiculous strap-on ears. And what is up with the butchered stag and wolf? I suggest another alternative upgrade: Fashion Druid, sporting some top notch mink hide.

Sure they did, they're the same units.Zealots also made the same laser blaster sound as H2 druids.

What is a druid? A priest, shaman and wise man in the celtic cultures. Essentially, a paganic priest. I see no reason why they'd have to wear brown robes.Corlagon wrote:As the only one who looks remotely like an actual druid (aside from old scraggly Heroes I and the omitted heroes) I vote Heroes II unupgraded.
"Yes, but what about David Beckham and the magic mushroom?"

How many priests have you seen that wear purple robes, dare I ask? Plus Druids traditionally used silver sickles and the like, not magical balls of energy...What is a druid? But seriously, let's not start another thing about this...
