HOMM2 with HOMM version a close second.

In the original HOMM and HOMM2, that wolf was a very strong part of a barbarian army. In the first edition, the wolf graphic was very good.

I love how the H2 wolf looks, so I'll go with it. H4 looks really nice, but H2's wolf has those crazy fangs that are awesome.

Heroes 5 wolf is agressive, and I like that, just like the second H2. Heroes 4 and I come after (IV looked like a dog, too small. H1 it looked almost docile). Heroes 3 ones were the worst. I just can't imagine they being like that, rode by some stupid monsters.

I actually kind of like the H1 wolf.

I like the feral look of the Heroes 5 wolf.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

First off, wolves are not meant to be tame little tea cup dogs that are frightened of their own shadows. They are meant to be wild and should be respected as such. Dogs are nice, friendly, and cuddly. Wolves are proud, independant, and viscious (if cornered). That is why man tries to kill them, too good of competition. Voted for H5, they seem to be the best all-arround. Graphics, strength, and that howl just is very useful.
Agree completely with you here!

Without a second thought the H5 wolf is just the best. I love how the furs stutters in every direction, showing of his enraged attitude and the special is both natural and logical, not at least very irritating for you. But just great when you are the beastmaster of these puppies :D

And I hate they who hunt wolves in real life, I would gladly attack those who would if I got the chance  Saw a hunter on the front page of a newspaper many times, proudly showing of a dead wolf. What he want? A medal? I'll give him a medal stuck in his throat! I just get so angry and upset, Im scared of myself! So sry...I just had to let it out :(

Oh and plenty credits to those nations that try to take care of threated animals, predators and herbivores alike. Sweden deserves a platina medal for preserving the wolves etc, my homecountry, Norway sucks big time in comparison. An epic struggle between hunters and preservers, when its gonna end? :(

@ Jeff

Umm if they had some human shape and standing on two but leaping on four, then Im agree with you.

It's a tossup with H1 & H2 as they're basically the same with different coloring. H2's has superior coloring but H1 came first so it's a toss-up for me.

H3 comes with a goblin so it's not a pure wolf.

The death animation [esp. sound] reminds me too much of Michael Vick in H4.

H5 looks a little too much like a dire wolf.

This one is definately a tricky question, but after some thinking I award the first prize to Heroes I Wolf. Compared to the other wolves this one at least looks like a real wolf. And it's a good unit too.

I like the H3 unupgraded version best. The wolf doesn't look too cuddly and the goblin looks nicely feral as well.

Well, I've seen a program about wolves and they're really not nice! They may look cute but looks are deceiving. I'll give them credit for their organisatory and survival skills

i voted for the H5 one because he just looks so realistic and ready to kill you. H4 one looks too nice and looks like my puppy. all the other ones are OK(except for H3 one which just sucks)

Anybody notice that the goblin doesn't really attack in HOMM3 when it's attacking someone in front :| ? The wolf do all the work...
