Favorite Weapon Skill
This is a poll to see what is everyones favorite weapon skill is. This is not asking what skill is the best; (nor is it specific to any version of MM game,) just what weapon skills are peoples' favorites.

Not sure which one I'd consider the best anyway. Would have to check on them, then predict their effectiveness in given situations. And, at the moment, I'd rather not do that.
But for the style that I like the best, it was a toss-up between unarmed, and axe. Axe got it, though.

Well axes are slow at first, but this is largely offset late game when each point put into the skill both increases speed and damage, and in both MM7 and MM8 I tend to get powerful unique axes and swords more so than any other weapon types, but sword skill offer no damage increase, so axes it is.
Especially in MM7 where you are guaranteed to get Zokarr's Axe and "The Minotaur Axe" every game (non random)
They sucked in MM6 though. Not only did it require you to go through a difficult quest involving the quasi genocide of the MM6 Dwarf population to get Master Axe (the key skill level), but the classes that can equip them are inferior to the ones that can't.
And yes, Dwarves (MM7) and Minotaurs (MM8) kick ass!

Bows are pretty cool even in the later stages too, especially when your characters get to Master level and get two arrows per shot.UndeadHalfOrc wrote:Well bow is definitely the best weapon for early level parties, in mm6-mm7-mm8, no contest!
In MM6 any character can get to Master level in Bow. In MM7 only Archers & Rangers can get to Master level.
Weapons
Well, I voted for mace, because they are such perfect weapons for
a Paladin or a Cleric, but it really depends on the character class,
doesn't it? For a Sorcerer, I usually go for double daggers, and
for a Knight, double swords. My Archers get bows and axes, as
they can't equip a shield anyway, and 2-handed axes abound. In
my current game, I am actually developing staff for my Sorcerer,
which is a first for me. So far, so good...
