KotOR 2 - Restoration Project

Unread postby Elvin » 23 Oct 2007, 15:33

Some of you are probably aware that Kotor 2 was a mostly unfinished game with lots of missing content. Team Gizka has long since tried to put it back together to have the game version as close as possible to what it could have been including bug fixes, cut dialogues, other endings, npc deaths(!) and extra events. More info here.

I just found out that the restoration mod is nearing completion - I congratulate the guys and I hope we'll get it soon. I'd love the chance to replay that one B-)
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I actually liked the ending as is. Killing off the npcs is way too generic of a plot device. Plus it really wouldn't have made the ending any better, especially for the light side. How can you rebuild when everyone is dead?
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

Not kill them yourself maybe except Visas. For instance it can come to Atton fighting the zombie guy where he can lose and you find him later just before he dies or Visas confronting the Handmaiden under certain circumstances(I think dark side and romance). That's more for drama but what interests me more is the other content.

They didn't all die anyway... and there's an ending where you save them all after Kreia smacks them around.

And teh original ending left half teh plot threads dangling that there's no real closure... what ever happened to G0T0, why is the ship there to pick you up, where where your teammates while you where sight seeing on Malachor V?!

I heard about this project, very happy that a group of people ocmes toghether and try to finish waht Obsidian couldnt..thanks to LucasArts, man those guys are almost as bad as EA! Damn rushers!!!

I was eager to find out how to open that locked door in the Telos military complex, no chance! But this time, as soon as I get a new PC, Kotor II PC and feed in the mod to the computer. I will enjoy every bit of secret there is. HK-47 gotta be the most dark, humorous droid ever! Gotta love him. Of the trashcans hes my favorite, but of the meatbags, Mira and Atto. kreia and GOTO are thoe I dont like so much at all. M3-M4 are hilarious in his own ways too, remind me of R2-D2 but still stay unique, aside from the look of course :)

I poked around for news on this a couple months ago, it looked dead and abandoned. A pity.

/insert the usual rant about the state of the games industry of today, and how it was all better before.
Who the hell locks these things?

I looked a year or more ago and it looked dead... and now they're almost done... the website is always the last to be update no matter if it's a mod or a actual game... heck, is the H5 one still only showing 3 races or not on the creature page?
