I'm not crazy after all...
The name of the islands is first recorded by the ancient geographer Claudius Ptolemaeus (born AD 90, died AD 168), who called them Orcades. The old Gaelic name for the islands was Insi Orc which means the "Island of the Orcs". An orc is a young pig or boar.
And a non-wiki link, for more credibility: http://www.orkneyjar.com/placenames/orkney.htm

I know you probably won't remember it, but when i first joined the old forum (early 2k's) i said i saw somewhere that the reason why we have pig-orcs in HoMM is that orc = pigs in some language... and Kalah or someone rebuffed me. REVENGE IS BETTER SERVED COLD!

Surely you're mistaken, TT. Nobody would ever think to rebuff you! (mostly because they wouldn't want to deal with the inevitable barrage of argumentative sarcastic comments that would most assuredly and immediately ensue)

My random thought of the day:

SWST. Whenever I see this, I think of Swiss Cheese. SWiSs. And the T sounds similar to the first part of cheese. Works even better when in the possessive form.

SWSST is a desperate sound, especially when heard from Corribus. Dunno, it does not associate for me with nothing exact. Maybe MacGyver and his Swiss Knife.. ;)

Ahh, and it's often founds in video advers. Sort of popular ones.

Today, I laughed a bit. Brann didn't win... "Who?" I hear you say.. Ahkay, short story long:

Brann is a football team. With me so far? Good. Now, they haven't won the league in 44 years... still, their supporters are known for being among the most passionate in Norway. They reside in Bergen, our country's second largest city, and I do not exaggerate when I say that just about the whole population consists of Brann fans.

Today, with 3 macthes left to play, they had the chance to seal the deal. One point today - in fact, a single point in any of the remaining matches - will win them the gold. And today they faced Aalesund, a team fighting to survive in the top division, who also happened to lose their last 4 matches. People were pouring onto the streets of Bergen to watch on big screens, ready to celebrate... the city squares were just packed. Aaaand then: anti-climax. Relegation candidates Aalesund beat Brann 2-1... Okay, I know I shouldn't laugh, but I just feel... what's the word? Schadenfreude? :devious:

Oh, well, they'll probably manage one more point anyway. Or if their rivals happen not to win one of their remaining matches, that also awards Brann the gold.

Poor Sandi. Sounds like you might have done more damage than you originally thought.
