well the footy season was a disappointment, and the Twenty20 World Cup left a bad taste in the mouth, a semi-final loss for both of those .... but at least we are still alive in the Rugby World Cup .... and doing well as a bonus

very grudging praise for Geelong for winning the grand final, they were far and away the best team all year

less grudging is my praise for the aussies in the rugby world cup, still going strong, though the second round will be the real test

I'll praise the Chicago Cubs for making the playoffs despite playing sub-.500 baseball for almost all of the first half of the season.
