The basis of the rule is: don't sit on your ass and expect others to fix things for you
that's a great rule for most things
I don't care what time of year it is, it's just unnatural to have temperatures above 20 degrees Celcius any other time than summer.
HA! most of winter has daytime temps over 20C here, and the coldest its got this winter is 15C I think .... and summer, less than 20C at night is nice, but not all that common :)

I know, in some ways fitting, regarding the demise of 3DO, and in most ways just disturbing :)

I feel bad for people who get 'gypped' out of money they were rightfully entitled to because they didn't understand the procedures or were wrongfully instructed. But those who just sit there waiting for someone else to do it for them, get no sympathy from me either.

Ethric would have enjoyed a case on Court TV the other day.

Plaintiff & Defendant were friends who got into a drunken fist fight over $10. The Defendant struck the Plaintiff in the face and knocked out his prosthetic eye. The Defendant did not immediately notice that the eye was missing and it was lost. The Plaintiff was suing for almost $5K to replace it.

Sounds like a straight up case where the man should pay up for his friend's loss. Wrong.

The Judge asked "Shouldn't Medicaid pay for this?" The Plaintiff hemmed and hawed about it for a bit and then said that Medicaid had denied payment and that's why he was suing.

The Defendant explained that Yes, they had gotten into a scuffle and he did strike the Plaintiff but he did NOT see the eye fly out nor did he notice it missing when the Plaintiff left. He said, "You would think I'd see his EYE fly out! I think he's just using his disability to make some money off me because he's angry with me about another matter."

The Judge then noticed that the Police Report was not filed until THREE MONTHS after the incident, which just happened to be the day after the claim was denied. The Judge also denied him payment.

You gotta fill out those papers in a timely fashion - or you look like a LIER!

Actor says his sex scenes with Keira Knightley were a nightmare

I'd had nightmares like that every night, oh yes I would.

I feel so sorry for the poor man, imagine having to do something like that - for such small compensation as well, just awful

nevermind the rest of us would probably PAY for the right to do that :D

Just beat F.E.A.R. and I am very disappointed. I've played some terribly mediocre first person shooters, like Halo 2, Condemned, and all kinds of Doom-Clones, and F.E.A.R. is right up there with them.

I think it's the quality titles that have ruined it for me. I'm looking at you Bioshock, Half-Life 2, and System Shock 2.

I only bought F.E.A.R. to tide me over before Mask of the Betrayer, Orange Box, and Tribes of the East were released. I now feel cheated out of $30. Even worse, this was supposed to be a scary game. Not one thing made me even flinch. If I were to give it a rating, I'd give it a big ol' MEH.

on the topic of the cost of games, which we were somewhere else where the canadians were crying foul over the price of games considering the exchange rates .... that was about CAN $1 to US $1 and games were about $60 CAN and S50 US or something like that

well, the current exchange rate for aussie dollars to us is AUS $1 to US 0.90c .... our games cost about $100 which is about US$90!!!!!! cry about that!!!!

Not a huge surprise considering your government recently gave the shaft to the videogame industry.
