ForumTalk: The End of an Era

Unread postby Kalah » 09 Feb 2006, 01:18

The admin eventually succeeded; it is somewhat ironic that after having suffered from a perpetuated lack of decent customer service from GameSpy all these years, it was exactly this which made us unable to leave properly. Recently, however, the admin gained access to certain features - and he thus made the old Table read-only. Closed.

The New Table has taken its place, and the transition seems to have gone very smoothly, as the basic structure and contents have remained the same. The same old members - along with several very active newcomers - welcome everyone with their curtious talk, offering assistance to most any problem save plugging up the ozone hole, and discussing the development of the game series.

The official closure of the old Table spells the end of an era, although we've already gotten quite a bit into the new one. Nobody takes the loss too hard, it seems, as a new child has soothed the pain from the loss of the old. On-topic talk has been abundant as the new game nears completion; a factor the admin took into consideration when choosing the time for the Big Move. Cudos.

And to all the members making our new place a liveable one: Thanks.

Finally, it happened. Moderating two forums at once was not fun. The old forum is here: http://www.forumplanet.com/strategyplanet/homm

So Kalah you got the last post? I was hoping you'd say something witty. Like... "Here's to looking up your address." Or something. :D

considering how sexy the new table is and how well the comments forum works I don't think anyone will weep over the fact that old posts are missed.

and as Kalah said; the time of choice for moving was excellent. the new posts will certainly make it easier to leave the old ones behind oneself. even for a lurker like me.

It is over... :S
Veldryn 15:15 And Vel found a dirty old jawbone of a walrus and put forth his hand, and took it, and in his unholy rage, he slew thirty four thousand men and children therewith.
