The written exams kinda proved that I had the theory down. The programming assignments just proved that I'm lazy.

The lecturer went round to see our progress in the assignment, and she's a lil impress of my unique solution...
Java finish, now only C Assignment, which sounds 10 times harder mainly because I'm not familiar with the syntax the techniques. Anyone knows how to explain in detail about structures and unions? How do I use them?

I have no idea...
Programming isn't my cup of tea.
However, if you or somebody you know needs help with Biology stuff (especially Genetics; I LOVE Punnett Squares...) then you can call me up.

IIRC it's the diagram you use to determine the probability something has of having a certain gene...for example...BoardGuest808888 wrote:What's Punnet Square anyway ?
If the gene for Heroes addiction is 'A' (dominate) and the gene for non-addiction is 'a' (recessive), and one parent is Aa and the other is aa for Heroes addiction, then the probability that their child will be a Heroes addict is:
A a
a | Aa | aa |
a | Aa | aa |
...50%.
We can also do more complex squares. Take the above example, and say the Might and Magic addiction is m (recessive) while non-addiction is M (dominate). Parent 1 is AaMm while Parent 2 is aamm.
AM Am aM am
am | AaMm | Aamm | aaMm | aamm |
am | AaMm | Aamm | aaMm | aamm |
am | AaMm | Aamm | aaMm | aamm |
am | AaMm | Aamm | aaMm | aamm |
So the chance of the child being a Heroes addict but not a Might and Magic addict is 25%, the chance of the child being addicted to both is 25%, the chance of being addicted to neither is 25%, and the chance of being addicted to Might and Magic but not Heroes is also 25%.
You can use these (in some cases, at least) to determine if a couple took the wrong baby home from the hospital, or who the father is of a child.
Of course with my luck I remembered wrong and that isn't a Punnet Square at all.

just dropping by to say hello after being away for so long.
This is the appropriate thread to post this; cause I've been in Enschede at my university were I had my Introduction period (10 full days ) This monday college will start and I'll get some math tests done immidiatly...
Ayways, I'll be doing Chemical Engeniering for those who are interested

@BoardGuest808888: Kareeah has answered your question...quite nicely I might add.
@Kareeah: LOL at your example!
I wonder if HOMM and M&M addiction is gene related. Maybe I should find out...
@Thelonious: Cool! I'm taking General Chemistry this semester (studying Microbiology), and my professor is so boring...
Or, maybe it's the class material itself (I hope not ).

You know sometimes the professor can do little if something is really boring but chemistry is not one of the subjects I'd not rate as such.
Conclusion: Your professor is a bore
In my uni I've had a few cases where I was not sure which was more boring.. Still if the professor is good at what he does and sticks less to the facts and dry knowledge he can keep things going even if you hate the particular subject. Too bad such people are rare.

I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I don't know if it's challenging stuff for you, but it could that it's just to easy for you and that's why it's so boring. Or the professor is just reading from the book. Ask around are all the people in your college bored, then it's probably the professor.

@Thelonious: It's the professor.

And I'm still a Sophomore (sic?)...
But, it's fun...I can't really complain about much (except my Chem professor...)
Excluding finals...my last day of class is December 4.

Tomorrow. (Well, the school years starts today (or two weeks ago if you're a first year), but my first class is tomorrow). Of course, since I'm doing my Master's thesis, I've been here almost all summer.theLuckyDragon wrote:When does college start for everybody?
