No, that was not the only similarity. And I don't remember any shouting of Jonathan's name in Buffy.
there wasn't shouting per se, but chanting .... that there was :)

HBO runs several series I think are excellent. Deadwood was remarkable, pure suspense. It's canceled after three seasons because of the cost. With so many questions left unanswered too. :( The Soprano's... I can't even describe it. The Wire is also very good although I was a bit skeptical at first. Rome should be continued! There is so much rich story ahead... If only everything wasn't all about the money. :disagree:

Just saw Road to Perdition again. The Title fits perfectly. Great movie.

@soviet

Unfortunately this is becoming an annoying habit of HBO. They make these fabulous shows and then cancel them at the height of popularity because of the cost. This happened with Deadwood, Rome, and Carnivale. It's getting to the point where I am not going to watch them until they are completed.

Six Feet Under was another good show, but I didn't make it past the third season. Did it ever finish or was it cancelled, too?

Never watched Six Feet Under, doesn't seem appealing. As far as I know it's recorded five seasons so it's probably all done. Long life for an HBO show already.

Oh, you should really see it. Rent the first disc or two. I was immediately hooked. I stopped watching it only because I wanted to see if they actually finished it or not, but it was really good.

Meh, nothing HBO's done is really worth watching anywhere else but TV imo.

I watched Pan's Labyrinth the other day. It's a beautiful movie that shows the raw reality of war while a young girl is living her own fairytale but each world does not seem to affect the other to the point that you wonder if it all actually happened or it was in the girl's head.

Well directed and moving.

I've also seen Pan's Labyrinth a while ago and thought it was amazing. I loved the acting of the young girl and although it was in spanish it didn't bother me at all. The scene where the girl's stepfather gets his cheek cut is just awful :D

As opposed to what? :) It did have some cruel scenes with the worst probably when the stepfather beat to death that young guy in front of his father.

Just got back from Rob Zombie's Halloween. *Yawn* Can we say Hollow Mockery? Rape of a classic? Heartless waste of money? We got in free and wanted our money back.

2 hours of watching titties bounce, women screaming and Micheal dragging bodies around. Big whoop.

Watched Constantine for the second time yesterday. Good fun. Tilda Swinton is incredibly well cast as Gabriel, androgynous as she is... and Peter Stormare is just amazing as Satan.

Yeah good movie. I liked how things turned out in the end though Gabriel's motive was a bit weird-conceived.

Watched Transmorphers (not to be confused with Transformers) and The Challenge yesterday:

Transmorphers: One of the worst movies I've ever seen...terrible, just terrible.
It doesn't even deserve greater mention, so I'll stop talking about it...

The Challenge: On the other hand, this German (yes...German!) kung-fu flick was awesome. One of the best kung-fu flicks I've seen in a while! :applause:

It is indeed a poor movie where Constantine isn't the best played role. I only read a few comics and they guy is already high on my great characters list, whio the hack thought it was a good idea to hire a wooden plank to play him and turn him into an american?

Never read the comics, so I like the movie...

Also, "Der Untergang" was just on the telly... Bruno Ganz is exceptional in that film, and anyone who disagrees is courteously invited to visit me so I can give him/her a proper spanking with a hard object.

Meh, Keanu Reeves was only good in 2 movies, Johnny Mnemonic (he fits someone that has half the brain made out of transistors) and Bill&Ted's Excellent Adventure. And he was OK-ish in Speed.

But Constantine was pretty mediocre even when i hadn't read any of the comics.

Yeah, never did get those strip joints where they don't let you touch.

Now this one looks interesting (and stars Bruce Campbell too): http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/se ... shortfilms
Anyone know where i could get my hands on it?
