I thought I recognised a name .... Philip Jose Farmer - I read his dayworld series a long time ago, a very interesting read that one

I'm reading "Snow crash" by neal Stephenson, but I had to take a little break so I could read "the Perfume - the Story of a murderer" bu patrick Süskind, a really good book, and a really good film to if you haven't seen it yet.

Farmer is better known for his Riverworld series. The premise is that the Earth is destroyed and some aliens come along and resurrect everyone who ever lived on a planet with a river that runs from pole to pole. As you travel the river you encounter various civilizations and historical figures.

Dammit, you'd you need to remind me of that series.... never managed to find any more books from it after i finished the first two. But i heard it ended rather crappy... any thoughts?

well it was a long time ago, but I have pretty good memories of the series, bear in mind as well that this was well before I really got into a lot of fantasy, but I would have read the hobbit, LoTR and the Riftwar before it ....

It's the perfect cure for insomnia. I start getting droggy after 2 pages and fall asleep on the 5th.

I actually love some books. I have gone through Harry Potter, lord of the rings, a bit of forgotten realms and some classics as journey to the centre of the earth or a christmas carol. I don't get to read as often though and I generally prefer to read in English.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.
