Just a moment of serious stuff. I posted this over on my local forum and just did a C&P to keep from having to type it again. It's just an FYI that I didn't know where else to put it.
Yesterday afternoon we got a call from Standifer Place Health Center. My father had pulled out one of the tubes that was irrigating his bladder. No one at the facility was qualified to reinsert it so they sent him to Memorial Hospital. My mom just got the call this morning that they have decided not to put the tubes back in. Dad is 'going in and out' due to the heavy medications and the doctors don't think he's going to be with us much longer. He put up a good fight for over a year with multiple ailments. However, like so many people, I just believe that when he knew he would never get out of bed and 'live' again, he just stopped fighting. At least his days in the Nursing Home were comfortable and few.
Thank you all for your prayers and support. They have been greatly appreciated. Thanks to each of you who visited Dad when he was still able to know you were there. It did a lot to cheer him up and let him know that he was loved and respected. That's the most that any one can ask for and the best thing that life has to offer.
