King's Bounty E3 Trailer
I have to say the units, and especially the animations completely blow away the H5 ones. Exceptional work with the interface as well.
My only gripe with the game is that you can't be evil..

Well, just wait and see Inf. You might just find enough "baddies" in the game to enjoy it.Infiltrator wrote:"I have to say the units, and especially the animations completely blow away the H5 ones. Exceptional work with the interface as well.

Maybe they are just pushing the "good guys" in screenshots to contrast with H5, which had no good guys AT ALL (!!). Maybe it had by the standards of a Necro/Inferno fan - but believe me, as a Haven & Sylvan/Preserve fan, it didn't (or to very limited extent). Their idea about making the universe "darker, more mature" was taking all that was good in previous games, and make it evil or lame in one way or another.
But worry not. I see enough demons, necros & spiders in those screenshots. There must be sth for your taste in there.

Well as far as I remember, they said you could only pick a Wizard, Knight and something else, but anyway they won't be evil. I was really looking forward to being a warlock
But maybe I will be able to hire evil creatures, I really hope so at least.

Never really did care about whole factions being entirely evil or good...

Well I don't want to be evil per se. In RPGs I even usually play characters that are good in heart but have some dose of cunning and trickery that doesn't make them a goodie two shoes.
Warlocks aren't necessarily evil as much as demons and necromancers, but aren't the embodiment of good either. It's just that wizards.. meh, they are just too good and their creature lineup is really not my style.

I guess there are not many out there who want to be all the time good per se, or evil per se. Maybe because I'm the religious type, I tend to wanna be the good guy, fighting the evil. But when it comes to simply enjoying a game, I do eventually end up playing all alignments. I do start always with the good guys to get to know the game. But if the game gets to me I want of course to explore everything about it.
My regret about H5 was that it didn't give me the chance of getting to know the game through at least one good alignment.
In a way JJ hit the spot when he mentioned the importance of having the "choice". However we see it from different perspectives. For me H5 gives me no choice. Through some of the units (both Haven & Sylvan), the racial ability (Sylvan) or philosophy (fanatic humans), I AM already the bad guy throughout the whole scenario.
I hoped the alternate upgrades would bring the possibility of choosing between good & bad inside at least 2 of the 7 alignments. It would have been most appropriate, because there ARE humans who want only good, and are trying to achieve it in a nice way (not fanatism or anything). Not to mention the way many percieve the Elves, as creatures of most noble character, above greed & hate or anything else negative. But no, the just changed some numbers in stats, an ability here and there... and that's it.

^Second what Zam said. I want my good guys to be people I can aspire to be like. The weak-willed, selfish, dim-witted and overall contemptible lot in Heroes V does not fit that requirement by any stretch of the imagination.
Also, second the vote that the new King’s Bounty probably won’t run on my laptop.
Ah well. Maybe in a few years…

Yea H5 hasn't got a good race throughout the campaigns, it's a shame.
What reminded me about alignments in general is the star wars trailer - I played almost all SW games (Jedi Knight 1/2, Kotor 1/2) and I always end up being the good guy, even early in the game, but the choices you make are pretty black and white, I'm sure that if I could really be what I want I'd end up with a character like Han Solo.
In RPGs where I get to follow a storyline I always pick a rogue archetype but end up being good. Kind of like V from V for Vendetta, that kind of "good", as in "violence can be used for good".
And I just noticed, there is no Dungeon Faction in KB ;(
We get:
Castle/Haven (with some units from the Wizards)
Elves
Dwarves
Orcs
Undead
Demons
Neutrals (that include dragons ;( )
So sad, they split rampart and make 2 alignments, they throw all kinds of units including some orc ones in the neutral section, some of the wizard troops go to Castle and Warlocks get the shaft

You can't say you've played almost all starwars games without have played the strarfighter simulators. MY my, "tie fighter collector CD-rom": 134 campaign missions, good storyline, lot's of starfighters. "Xwing vs tie fighter"- agood game. "Xwing alliance" fantastic experience. THAT was good gaming.
Why can't anyone in lucasarts make a new starfighter simulator, that would really be the best thing ever! And "The Force Unleashed" better be released on PC. I can't afford consoles....

Well I played a lot of flying ones but that was so long ago I cant remember the names even. Is Xwing vs Tiefighter that one where you also have a huge selection of ships, and torpedoes look like big blue rectangles?
