I like the old one much more.. It actually looks like a phoenix - a bird. I can't stand the new phoenix' dragon wings.

Nah, old one was way better. The new one looks like a dragon, not a bird. Bat wings, no noticeable beak, segmented skin under the legs, that just screams reptilian.

Indeed, what I see here is a creature and its upgrade. (The model -wireframe- seems to be similar, yet textures change).
It is true that the upgraded (phoenix) got all the feathers burnt, revealing reptilian skin under them, but I still like it, and seen the comparison, it looks to my eyes much more like a bird now. Still, If you'd like to mod It, it seems you have the elements available so, don't be lazy and mod it yourself.
That, or ask for an Alternate Upgrade Firebird - Phoenixbird - Phoenixdragon.

I still consider H5, NWC version the best of phoenixes in series!
I am back and ready to... ready to... post things.

Hi All ! I have made mod replacing idle Fire Bird (Heroes V Beta) and Snow Ape (Heroes V HoF) on working Fire Bird (compatible with Heroes V HoF only!) ... http://deep.phpwebhosting.com/~paradox/ ... t=826&st=0

@KI: I know you have probably done it; as I would have done if i minded . There's nothing bad in "customizing" a bit your games.
Yet, I guess many people complaining have not taken a click away to see what they can do (and want the developer to make the game exactly as they themselves like). I underestand there is cases were mod the game to what you would like is not an easy work (i.e. if you had to build the phoenix from zero)... but this is a flagrant case of nearly only needing to change the name of a texture file!
(Disclaimer: I said that without having tried to do so, so maybe it is more complicated as the textures are not easy to access, or not recognizable by name -- but at least, it seems easy)
