Can anyone think of why it doesn't fully uninstall from my computer?

Does it tell you which files have not been unistalled, as I remember it gives you the option at the end to view them. It is usually just folders, but it could be files in the registry, which I don't touch for fear of screwing things up. 8|

It says that everything has been uninstalled, but the folders are still there.

Those are frequently left to keep savegame and related files, so that they will be there when you reistall.

The old 3DO forum use to have a section to discuss tech support issues. I know CH is not a company, but it might be a good idea to have a forum where people can go to ask questions and others can go to offer advice. :-D Hint Hint :-D

At this point, my only other option is to reformat my computer. Beyond that, I dont' know what else to do.

Is H-V the only program misbehaving, if so reformatting is usually tramatic surgery, I wish you luck. 8| , and hope to hear from you after a successful procedure. :D

I wouldn't bother reformatting your computer. I'd try a system restore first and then try to assess the problem from there.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

That subforum was discontinued from the old board, people may ask everywhere else now... ... for reason that it wasn't used much.

...such situations are really common. Can be damaged registry, not registered dll, classes or so... damaged files in homm install. When uninstall failed, Shift+Del on homm folder and reinstall should help in many cases however.

PS Asking about it in Random Thoughts threat is not the very best idea.

True but tech questions are now scattered everywhere, and this will only get worse as vista computers start appearing. There are several threads in the Heroes I-IV, H-V, and M&M forums on various tech questions. So even if it isn't used much at least they would be centrally located and easier to search. Even if unused it could be a reference library of tech answers, right now tech threads get buried quickly by other topics causing new threads asking the same questions.

Yes, you may use that when classical uninstall failed. Second is try to reinstall the game again.

Now I seem to remember that happening to me once when a patch installation was interrupted. It kept trying to uninstall even though I had done it. I was fairly good at starting over so I reinstalled the company shipped imagine which overwrites everything, that was the only way I ever got it to work.
