(1)tactician and (2)strategist.
Especially tactician since I enjoy trying to find the line between what is possible to beat and what is not and then moving close to that line to gain an early advantage. Not an expert with a specific town, but I have little affinity with Fortress and Asylum.

(4)mapmaker
Though most of my H2 and H3 work was lost to the Tjernobyll virus. :S

(5)theorist
Talking about play is a lot faster than playing itself. I enjoy discussing tactics and strategies or just read what other people have to say.

(8)active community member
Though I don’t post all that much, I really enjoy reading other people’s posts. And I try to help people out if I can. Was a moderator at the old forum, am an occasional playtester for other mapmakers and was a judge in the RT mapmaking contest last year.

I did more than dabble but I'm surely not famously known for that almost nowhere. ;| (As it was for closed group.) :D

Hmm... I'm gonna go with 7) and 8)! I wouldn't say that i'm not good at Heroes, but i don't actualy play it as much as alot of you seem to. I also mostly only play SP and like having all my creatures with the main hero.
And maybe a bit of 6)! (I once made a list of the order RoE upgraded creatures are shown in the Thieves Guild by strenght, and recently updated it for H3C. And i'll prob do one of both upgrd and unupgrd creature sometime soon).

If you go looking for Kristo's old heroes page(s) you might find some of my old H2 and H3 maps/campaigns.

In general, I'm a loremaster

In M&M, I'm an enthusiast/loremaster

In HOMM 1-2 I'm a tactician, strategist and an Expert in most towns (especially Warlock)

In HOMM3 I'd probably on go with enthusiast

In HOMM4, I'd go back to Tactician, Strategist amd an Expert in Nature (with an almost Expert in all of the other towns)

I'm a closet mapmaker. I've made a ton of maps (although I lost many of my favorites 5 years ago with a HDD crash). Mostly now, I just modify other maps since I don't have time to do the full design anymore. I would like to bring out my Hees map or my campaign sometime, but for now it's just for me. Lately I've been playtesting my AxisAndAllies map.

Active board member - currently most active in my Auction and Yog Diary threads. But I float around.

Logistician

I have my moments of brilliance in strategy and tactics, but what I do consistently is organise my secondary hereoes for economical resource gathering and troop supply.

Added Logistician to the list. Thanks Kilfire, it's a good idea.

5) theorist -- I can always sustain my arguments related to gameplay coherently and validly
6) loremaster -- I'm fascinated by the story of the Heroes universe and I know lots about it
7) enthusiast -- I'm not particulary good at Heroes, I don't even play it regularly, but I enjoy it very much
8*) active commity member -- I post/moderate/administer at least one important Heroes forum/site frequently
9) logistician (first cited by Kilfire) -- what I do consistently is organise my secondary hereoes for economical resource gathering and troop supply.
In Heroes III, I am...

An enthusiast. Even though I'm pretty bad at it, I like playing it.
A logistician. I usually have heroes doing rounds around mills and such.
A loremaster. I try to absorb all the info I can. I know more than an average Joe, that's fo sho.
A community member, as you can see.
Among my friends, I'm a fortress specialist, but I'd lose to any competent player.

HOMM4 - I would also add that I am a Heroes Developer. I tend to try to level my heroes up with certain slants and I always play with multiple heroes in my armies so they usually compliment each other.

But I'm still tweeking my playstyle every so often. I used to play nature to include both Chaos and Life heroes but other folks have been pointing out the disadvantage of opposites in the same army so I've tweeked it so that I can used Nature/Life and/or Nature/Chaos in my development strategy. Now I tend to go Archer-Druid and figure out what towns are neer me to decide whether to develop Life or Chaos as my secondary.

Unfortunately, those are no longer available. Tripod finally decided (after years of inactivity) that my account was inactive and deleted it. I do have your maps saved somewhere I think.

Interesting topic I must say. All mentioned below is based on Heroes of Might and Magic 3. I have played mostly in SP though I had my encounters in MP more than a few times. From my experience I would rate myself as...

Tactician - I pick my fights but I'm not going to be stunned if I'm outnumbered. I had a chance of defeating a Castle army that was twice my size in every unit with Tower army. Spells are my weapon of choice.
Strategist - Carefuly developed town is a key to victory.
Necropolis expert - I like when my opponent is working for my, supplying me with troops. :) Though I'll be OK with any given town.
Loremaster - I think that after some dozen times playing H3 (RoE, AB, SoD) I know much of that lore by heart.
