No no, it has to be the priest's crucifix... "Ops, dropped it! Ah, darn, dropped it again!"

ABC Gives Late Renewal to According to Jim
Apparently the War at Home took up all available space in TV hell, giving Belushi and company a new lease on "life."
by IGN Staff
June 28, 2007 - America can't seem to get enough of comedies centered around questionably talented schlubs married to far-more-attractive women. The proof is here, with th news that ABC is giving the already-pronounced-dead According to Jim another season.

It's interesting to note that Jim is getting a slightly shortened 18 episodes. This may be because the long running series is just more expensive than a new show. It also might have to do with the fact that ABC was originally going to pick up Scrubs when NBC let it go. Now, with no Scrubs, and no new shows from their own development slate - ABC is left with According to Jim. They must be so proud.
It's bizarre to me that we allow such bad actors to continue working. I posted this mainly bcause I like how insulting it is and I hate According to Jim and The War at Home.

I just don't understand how many "stupid dad" sit-coms we need on TV. Can't someone come up with a better idea?

US tv has always done that, just think about it. Something new comes along and becomes a hit and then with 2 or 3 seasons clones are everywhere. :disagree:

Futurama is watchable though Fry is starting to annoy me, as is the Simpson in small amounts; it's been on too long to be original on a weekly basis.

Actually, you could shift part of this conversation to the What do you TIVO? (NO SPOILERS PLEASE) thread since I'm still looking for summer shows to record while my favs are on hiatus.

(I am that fat schlub so I watch those shows)

Not According to Jim, but I've laughed occasionally at War at Home and LOVE Family Guy.
