I love those old fashioned maps

I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I can still remember fairly well the layout of the map of Britannia (from the Ultimas), the names of the towns and villages and the location of some dungeons. And I haven't played any Ultima game for nearly ten years.
Time flies doesn't it...But strangely I can remember pretty well games and their missions that I have not seen in years. Somehow you still keep your sense of direction and forbidden actions even if you forget the layout of a stage

Darn cool map there with many interesting locations
Gates to another world...hmm Btw are Varn along with Xeen in the beginning flat planets? I saw a video on youtube, showing how Xeen turned to be a planet by using some sort of antennas, transmitters.

Actually there was two sorts of worlds in the old MM universe : planets and "nacelles". Nacelles are flat, artificial continents which are travelling around space to be ultimately merged with "real" planets as part as a terraformation process (in MM3 Sheltem forced the landings of many nacelles on the planet Terra, thus forming the "Isles of Terra"). Varn is a nacelle, as is Cron (MM2 world, to which the Gates to Another World are leading)
Xeen in MM4/5 is a two-sided nacelle and probably the Ancients' most advanced project as its purpose is to be transformed into a planet.

@ angelspit: I too remember the Ultima maps. I also remember that the headless were often found in the mountains close to Britain and always had good treasure.

Map of the Land of Varn
That's the exact same map I got when I bought the MM6 Limited Edition here in Australia. Minus the Japanese writing of course. I bet the MM2 map is on the other side.
