Don't mean to spoil your fun here... but writing them down won't do...

We surely need to hear them spoken, or else our pronunciation will be impossible to understand...

For example the portugese Bom dia I would have written it Bon Gia as I heard it pronounced here...

Oh, yes. :) I thought it was about writing stuff only. Based on English, then? Sounds like RR or R will be kind of a problem, but we'll try. Well:

Hello - Olá (O-lah) / Oi (O-ee :D)
2. Goodbye - Tchau / Adeus (Ah-deoos - that e as in Enter)
3. Water - Água (Ah-gooah )
4. Food - Comida (Ko-mee-dah)
5. Bathroom - Banho (Ba-nyo - this sound NH is similar to NY, but you pronounce it more nasal. And the A, before N, sounds more nasal too...)
6. Car - Carro (ka-ho, similar to HOME)
7. Bed - Cama (Kah-mah, se CA sounds more nasal than "ma")
8. House - Casa (Kah-zah, some words in Portuguese sounds like Z when written S or X. No nasal vowels here).

1. Good day/morning - Bom dia (Bom dia or Bom gia or Bom dzia - it depends on where in Brazil you are. It's more common GIA, but at Northeast, they speak DIA, and at this state where I live mainly, they pronounce funny, like DZIA).
2. Good afternoon - Boa tarde (Boa tah-hu-de. The deaf kind of sound of the R, sounds like the throaty pronunciation of the beginning of "HOW". It's likely that in Northeast and South of the country, you'll hear TARDE. At the other parts of the country, you may find - it's like 50%/50% - TARGI.)
3. Good night/evening - Boa noite (Boa noh-ee-teh. Again, you may find NOICHI or NOITE (Northeast and South)).

Does that help a bit? :D
